Fifth graders at Elm Creek Elementary School spent the last 14 weeks participating in the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program with the Maple Grove police department, and they held a ceremony Jan. 10 to celebrate the program’s completion with family and friends. 

Equipped with icing, candy and plenty of imagination, students across the district celebrated the last few weeks before holiday break by decorating gingerbread houses. 

Osseo Area Schools’ Preschool and Prekindergarten Programs for the 2025-26 school year open for registration in January 2025. Programs are for children who will be three or four years-old on or before Sept. 1, 2025. Each program is designed to foster curiosity and creativity while supporting the growth of every scholar during their education journey. Visit district279.org/preschool-prek for details. 

Fourth graders at Elm Creek Elementary School recently had the opportunity to visit the Eastman Nature Center to learn important winter survival skills. The students had a blast during their day outdoors and learned what they would need to survive if they were ever stranded outside in the winter.

Throughout the months of December and January, various musical concerts will be held at schools across the district. Here's a list of upcoming performances.

After further review, the school-based health center mentioned as part of Crest View’s repurposing is going to be placed at Park Center Senior High School instead. There are a variety of reasons for this change, including easier access for more scholars and their families and a more district-centralized location. 

Community Education’s Early Childhood & Family Education catalog was recently mailed to community members in Osseo Area Schools.
