For fifteen years, Osseo Area Schools has partnered with Sasabe Elementary School in Sonora, Mexico. Six fifth grade students, Abibatu Seasy (EB), Aaron Xiong (PB), Cora Mcleod (BW), Isabella Enohnyaket (EB), Max Roemer (BW), and Olive Keuttner (EC) were able to meet their pen pals and learn about a different culture.

At Elm Creek Elementary School, students get the opportunity to partner with buddies in different grades for various activities throughout the school year. Classes recently met for the Poem in My Pocket Day.

For more than 25 years, Osseo Area Schools has put on one of the largest education-based powwows in the state. With more than 500 Native American students and 90 tribes represented, the powwow brings more than 1,000 people together for a celebration of culture and history.

District 279 Foundation's Investment in Youth celebration took place on Sunday, May 1. The event recognizes the many achievements and success stories of the students, staff, and volunteers in Osseo Area Schools. The program will be replayed on CCX Media Channel 20 or Channel 859 through Comcast Cable.
