District 279 Children's Chorus

For more than 50 years, the District 279 Children's Chorus has provided a high quality vocal music experience for elementary students, as well as extraordinary performances for the community. District 279 Chorus members demonstrate high vocal music skills relative to others of their age, experience or environment.

The chorus has approximately 100 members representing all of the elementary schools in our district. Every fall, students in grades 4 and 5 may audition to join the chorus.

Elm Creek TV

Elm Creek TV provides news, announcements and updates to our school community. Students help write, produce and deliver the news each day.

Fifth Grade Band & Orchestra

Students in fifth grade can participate in the school band or orchestra. Lessons begin in October each year and students are expected to practice 4-5 times per week on their own.

Fuel Up to Play 60

Fuel Up to Play 60 is a schoolwide nutrition and physical activity program launched by the National Dairy Council and National Football League, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Through this program, all Elm Creek students are encouraged to be physically active for 60 minutes each day and to make healthy eating choices. A team of Elm Creek scholars leads this program for our school community throughout the year with challenges and other exciting events.

Kindness Club

Members of the Elm Creek Elementary Kindness Club make our school a more kind and welcoming place every day! These students support multiple events throughout the year, including our annual Great Kindness Challenge.

Recycling Team

Recycling Team members keep our school looking great and help all Elm Creek scholars remember to reduce, reuse and recycle.

School Newspaper

Budding journalists hone their writing and interpersonal communication skills on the Elm Creek Elementary school newspaper! In addition to keeping students and families informed of what's happening in our school, each newspaper sold helps our Student Council fund service learning opportunities for scholars.

Student Council

Young leaders can help shape their school community by serving on the Elm Creek Elementary Student Council.
